Velcro stitch and rip day

I have a  set of Velcro strips to hold the structure to the others, and to itself when used as an individual unit. I borrowed the model we made at the workshop and spread it out on the studio floor today and tried to get mine to match. Somewhat vexing as  the units are not exactly the same size and yet the Velcro has to match, more or less, so they can attach together.

The other day I photographed one of the sections outside

and made some braided rope to see how it looked gathered and tied into folds

The next step is to get everyone together for a sewing bee to get a few more completed so we can try a set up outside. It seems much like a tent but shapeless and without poles ( so far) and it lends itself to ideas of tying draping, covering, wrapping and rolling.
